Rakahuri Rage

On Sunday the 20th it was the Rakahuri Rage race day and when I arrived there was a helpful man who pointed to the loburn school tent where I meet up with my team members. (Benj and Hayato). Hayato gave me a bag full of goodies and then it was almost time to go the Briefing where Marcus, Anna and Brooklyn gave their speech and we got told about the time of the track and how to keep safe and then before you know it I was at the starting line ready to start and do it (but I was so nervous) then I hear something or someone in the front yelling 3,2,1 GO!! And I was off trying to get up front but also biking at my own pace. Going was tough and slow on the gravel road but when I was on the hard dirt track I was in my element weaving in and out of the trees doing jumps when I can, I was loving it!!! Until I was I the out in the open on gravel road, GRAVEL ROADS!!!!! Man I hate them but I powered through and then I did it! I did my first lap!! But on my second lap I got attacked, ATTACKED can you believe it but guess what attacked me……… A hedgehog! I quickly dodged this slow moving beast and tried to catch up on Holly who just past me.

 LION FUN RUN

On the 13 of March Hayato picked me up from my house to take me to Lion's fun run. When we arrived we were the first people there so we didn't have to wait in a long line like some people had to do later on. After everyone was signed up we had to cross a creaking bridge to the briefing where they made us warm up (jogging) then the horn went and we started running.

HAWDON HUT

On Thursday we went to Hawdon Shelter for the very beginning of the tramp. We got our tramping packs out of the trailer and got handed a map, there were one map for every food group. As we got going we went through the little bit of the Forest to go down to the river bed then we started to walk with our packs on our back, what didn't feel to bad but only if we knew what was up ahead.
