High Ropes Day

High Ropes Day
On Friday the 3rd of June all the year 8s went to the Groins to complete a William Pike challenge. When we arrived I was feeling extremely excited about climbing but also feeling nervous because I am a bit afraid of heights. I don't know why but I feel more comfortable and safe climbing trees without a harness but get very nervous and I sorta get frozen in place when I stop climbing on a climbing wall with a harness.

But now I know what you're thinking “come on how high can it be??” Well…… The answer to that is very high, very very very high and all four of the climbing walls are the same height. The names of the four walls are the giant ladder, the vertical play pen, the floating islands, the horizontal pole (I call it the angle pole because it was on a angle) and last but definitely not least the Flying Kiwi.

My most proud moment was when me and my friends/teammates got past a certain point on the giant ladder when Hayato (who is terribly afraid of heights) couldn't get onto the next pole and I had to get Hayato onto my knee so he could climb up and the poles are not very wide and so I almost fell off the whole ladder, after Hayato got up to the next pole he wanted to come down so then it was just Benj and I on our own.

  1. Riely, you should be very proud of what you achieved on our adventure to the Groynes. The walls were high indeed, I got a sore neck supporting you from the ground. You did really well to push yourself to your limits. It is funny how a harness makes you nervous, I totally understand. It was nice to read that you were proud of Hayato, he too did very well. What did you enjoy most about the day?
The last paragraph needs punctuation. The content is very meaningful and correct punctuation would add to the impact it has on your audience.
